You're in the wrong place with that White Poppy, Jake. Go to Germany & start the Hitler Youth, then perhaps you'll appreciate what our men died for and modern Germany will make short shrift of you.

I am getting on a bit now, my parents' generation fought in WWII. I was brought up with the poppy, but even as a youngster would only wear it on Remembrance Sunday, otherwise it became just another juvenile accessory to one's blazer lapels, like the multitude of Golly badges, and was thereby deprived of its significance.
When we see people wearing a poppy it is a good reminder that remembrance day is coming up and if they are on TV then the message has a far greater effect . That is also the reason many people wear a poppy two or three weeks in advance. However if you don't think our disabled veterans are worth supporting , you don't have to buy and you can come on to AB and make facetious remarks.

What terrible levels of hypocracy you're demonstrating here...how many times have you criticized black and Asian Britons for not wearing poppies?

Shockingly hypocritcal.

Really is.
"when it comes to others making it their freedom of choice to accept homosexuality, mass immigration, or even what newspaper to read, these same people will condemn these person's freedom of choice. "

Well, people attack your reasoning for it (I mean let's not beat around the bush, we're talking about you here). That's really not the same as attacking your freedom unless you're chronically insecure.
