Thought you might like to know that a bit of divine karma came round to bite me on the toosh... Remember that ribbing I gave you about having 4-6 weeks off after your surgery? Guess who's having an op requring 4-6 weeks off next year... Doh! ;0)

I actually went for a stroll along the prom and looked at the illuminations last night......I'd almost forgotten that I lived at the sea-side.

What will you be having done ?

Nothing major, just an arthroscopy/osteochondroplasty (I assume the latter means fixing the damaged bit) but I was told that it's a 4-6 weeks off work job afterwards even though I'll be mobile and feeling fine. I guess so as not to damage what the doc did. I actually thought of you that day and figured I probably deserved it since I kept telling you to stop whinging and pretending to be ill ;oP

It's the enforced rest that's been the killer.......It is not as much fun as I had supposed it would be :o(

It's being done on my right hip... I've been complaing about leg/groin pain for nearly a year now, it's been really quite funky at times. The big doc opened the consultation with by stating that my CT scan looked 'interesting' which is always good to hear about a part of your body! Apparently I have funny shaped hips... Anyhow, he reckons the reason for all this discomfort is because I've got some lose cartilidge/tissue/whatever the heck is in there and the surgery should have a good outcome for me. I was terribly dramatic about the whole thing when I heard as an op was the last tihng I was expecting...Guess I better start asking for books for christmas!

Thank you authentic, I'm sure it'll all be fine... I'll no doubt be able to keep up my sexy mystique as I hobble about on a pair of crutches with a hole in my hip at the age of 32.... <eye roll> ;0)

ach, don't worry cd, i had my first hip replacent when i was your age. I would recommend asking for a Kindle rather than books as they take up much less space and are easy to read while you are lying down

I had to look up what a kindle is, looks quite cool... I don't think I'm going to be lying down very much at all though if I'm mobile. I'm quite looking forward to watching Jeremy Kyle, I actually see that as a treat to watch if I'm off sick... I think I need professional help.

Even the parade of freaks on JK starts to lose its appeal after a while CD.......
You'll be amazed at the amount of old or repeat shows/rubbish served up as daytime entertainment !

i've been off for around 3 months now .. sadly i have got in a daytime tv routine :(
this week i have made a plan -every time i have the tv on i have to be ironing

When I was out of work for three months I had a daytime TV routine as we had only the one computer so sister took the daytime shift job hunting and I took the evening... I don't buy clothes that need ironing on principal (I can't iron).

He's got loads jack... he wears them with tights when we're play fighing...
