Madelines

When we were in France in the summer we bought some madelines (well, quite a lot actually) and we all really liked them. I think they must have been 'long-life' as they were in a packet made out of stuff similar to a crisp packet and they weren't displaid by the bread. My husband bought some from Waitrose yesterday and they weren't very nice in comparison (maybe because they were 'fresh' with a short shelf life). Does anyone know where I can get some of the French variety? Thanks.

Sometimes you can get packs of them in pound shops
