I've got an interview on Thursday and just dont know what to wear! Bought a pair of black trousers and jacket but the jacket is going back as it looks awful! Thought about wearing a 'waterfall' cardigan, blouse and scarf (with the black trousers of course!) will this be ok?
I always go for a proper suit, trousers/skirt/dress and jacket though most of my interviews have been in law firms and it's the standard form of dress.
I'm not sure what a waterfall cardigan is though :)
Sounds Ok yelenots, what colour is the cardi? As long as you are clean and tidy not fussily dressed you should be Ok and make sure your shoes are clean too,
sorry cant describe the cardi but its a plum colour! Going shopping tomorrow to try and find a blouse with a bit of plum & black in it and perhaps a black scarf! I come out in an awful nervous rash round my neck so I'll have to cover it up!! Interview is for a office job.
All you need honey, is your new trousers and a smart blouse or shirt.
Don't wear a jacket or cardigan that you're not happy to take off, in case the room is really hot!
Other than that, just be confident and sell yourself.
Unless you turn up in jeans, a good employer is looking for what you can do, not what you wear! xx
yes first impressions definately count, you need to look smart, efficient, and that you have paid attention to the detail of your appearance and also, research the company, when you are asked if you have any questions, ask what software they use or somethin technical, or maybe how many you will be working with. Relax and smile.
