thanks
i dont just give them a wash
i only give them a rinse if i can see mud
top.tail. and wash.
I wash under a tap and scrub with nail brush or similar. Same with potatoes.
i never peel carrots. a quick wash is all they need. better for you with the skins left on, more fibre.
Well i don't see any harm in not peeling them if you don't mind carrots that may look discoloured and disfigured, but then saying that unless your stew is going to be filmed at close quarters for a Tv cookery program then go ahead. Personally I would peel them.

I peel them...
I peel them. Less messy than scraping, and the skin has a different texture than the inside-which I don't care for.
I never peel them, just give them a scrubbing with a vegetable brush.
I just wash them.
Ya you have to peel , microbes presenting in that will be harm , so peal it
I'm with Pasta. I find the skins a bit tough...
as long as you wash them top and tail thats good enough for me
I rarely peel unless they look a bit skanky - if you buy carrots in a bag, they are often labelled - no need to peel.
What kind of carrots are you using, Ummm? Carrot skin is so thin it's almost transparent.
It depends. Sometimes I buy them from the supermarket (thinner skins) but mainly I buy them at the greengrocers. I'll peel them all anyway as that's what I've always done. Sometime I have the chantanelle (sp) I don't peel those as they are too small...
Ok
