When we went out last night I put my winter coat on which I hadn't worn since March, I put my hand in the pocket and found a £10 note, screwed up with a reciept from something I bought back then.
As I was miss-sold the endowment I appealled to the Ombudsman several years ago and got a cheque for nearly £4,000. It wont cover the shortfall but at least its something.
I complained and got compensation too tigger - I now have a repayment mortgage so I paid the compensation against the mortgage - the endowment is now for the boys for uni if they go - not that it will cover much now.
Living on my own with a baby I can't really afford to switch to a full repayment mortgage so I have a partial repayment. Luckily its not a big mortgage as I bought the house in 1991.
Thats good then tigger - I had to change mine a good many years ago as I wanted a staff mortgage and you could only get repayment as staff. Glad now though.
