Pc not keeping up!

Hi, in the last few days my keyboard and mouse seem out of sync with my monitor. As an example, I type a line of writing and there is a delay before it appears on the screen. Also if a spell check box opens it takes a while for the mouse pointer to be able to click on the right word.
It's really annoying as I work on my home pc for a living. Any ideas what it could be? I'm running Firefox [the only thing compatible with my work browser]

You can use IE8 and run it compatitability mode which allows it to work with any websites.I would try this to see if it fixes it. What OS are you using ? Windows 7 has a problem fixing analyser buillt in .

Hi, I'm running Vista and have never have any thing like this before.As far as I'm aware I have to use Firefox as that is what my company's software runs best with, unfortunately although I may work on a computer but have very little knowledge of software! lol

It could be there are too many active applications. Which could be slowing things down .
Have you tried defragging ? If the hard disk is cluttered with bits of information it will slow everything down .

I should have mentioned having a clean out of unnecessary files. You can end up with hundreds of temporary files all using up disk space .

Thank you, I have defragged , run CCleaner and cleaned up disk space.....all in all had a good old clear out and all seems well again :O}
