Answerprancer - those tube train carriages are on their way to Derby for repair and they do look odd don't they? Off the motorway they take to the local streets round here, which is even odder. Not so amusing is when they get stuck going round a roundabout or take a wrong turn. As they can't turn round very easily they can cause nice big traffic jams while the driver looks up a new route....

I saw a massive steam engine on the back of a flatbed truck, in a lay by once.

My memory says it was the Flying Scotsman, but I suspect my imagination has added that fact.

We were once stopped on the M6 by two young policemen who at first accused us of tailgating, until one of them noticed we were being towed off by the AA

how about two folk engaged in "interlocking" activities - with no clothes on as the chauffeur went down the middle lane of the motorway from Manchester to Chester.

It beat Andy Powell driving a golf cart up the M4, totally smashed, in a golf cart to get a very early am snack from the service station.

Probably a big armoured vehicle which had gone over onto its side and was lying partly across each side of the M1.
