i know this isnt really a 'family Question - but was unsure where to place it really? and on the grounds that my daughter is my family - i chose here for a (hopefully) quick respsponse. My daughter will be 18 later on in February and i know is desperate to go out with her older sisters (legally) as they have been clubbing it etc for the last 4 years or so, Now, as she doesnt posess a driving licence and i am certainly NOT letting her go out with her passport or birth certificate i wondered what form of I.D is acceptable? As she is quite young looking and would most certainly get asked for it?
Thanks in advance x

Citizencard, as suggested above, is widely known and accepted. However there are a number of schemes running nationally. It might be worth contacting some of the more reputable venues your daughter is likely to be visiting and asking them what they accept.

lovely!!! thank you both - hadnt thought of the citizen card x
had same prob when my daughter was this age,if she is at college then a photo id card from there should be ok, the one they get when they first start as id for the library etc, i know mine used hers with no problem :-)
I got a fake student union card when I was at college so not sure if they would accept anything like this. It was so easy to do I told them I was 3yrs older and used my sisters driving license to 'prove it'! They didn't have photos then.
I got my daughter a Citizencard and only one pub/club here accepted it It was more widely accepted in supermarkets, cinema etc.
She ended up getting a provisional driving licence, more expensive but accepted everywhere.
the only acceptable id we take at work for proof of age is a valid passport or driving license, tell her to send for her provisional license
That's work Dotty. Not a pub....
surely was still a different name on your sisters licence tigwig. What thickos!
They were 4get but I just told them that was my name and the people running the SU had no idea who I was anyway! Would have spoilt it though on a night out if my friends were calling me the 'wrong name' in front of door staff wouldn't it?

thanks sooo much everyone for your input - she has had (i'm embaressed to say ) a fake ID card ie:driver permit card complete with photo - looks soooo genuine but no hologram and all her mates have them : / however i think the best suggestion is that i apply for a driver permit at whatever cost - about 50 quid i think and let her use that ? so many websites for fake ID its untrue!!! hers cost her a tenner apparently - its accepted in the local off licences etc but in town no chance cos they have scanners thank goodness - i was mortified when i found out her and all her mates had got the fake ID sooo easily? funny old world?
but thanks again everyone x
In Zimbabwe we all have national id cards. Saves a lot of hassle. You get them from age 16.
