Two Questions:-

1) Can you remove the box from your wall so other people can not post things on your wall?
2) Can you hide your online status so that you don't appear in the chat box? At the moment you will appear but as off line, is there anyway you can set it so you don't appear at all.

yes, go into your privacy settings to exclude people from posting on your wall
yes, click on the chat icon, there should be a place where you can be always offline
