I have inherited a sword stick and would like to know its history. The blade is rectangular in cross section and has Coulaux & Cie on one side and Klingenthal on the other. It's in a bamboo stick with a silver coloured ring round the join. the whole thing is 400 cms long. Anybody any idea what it might be?

You sure it's 4 metres long?

Sorry squarebear- of course I meant 40 cm!
You should be aware if this:

so you mustn't lend it or sell it but you can own it.
Coulaux & Cie is the venerable company that has made swords and sword sticks for more than 150 years, in Klingerthal which translates as the"Valley of the Swords"
So you may have inherited a bit of history. Klingerthal blades were a much sought after weapon back in those violent times.
