Can anyone tell me what my 4 year old son should be learning at school so that I can help him at home - tried asking him but he is not really giving me any answers and his teachers are a little odd! we are in Wales, UK.
Thanks in advance

They encourage the parents to support this learning by sending in items of interest, stories of personal experiences etc. Works very well.
I would do what Lore suggests and ask to meet the headteacher and chat over your concerns. Try and get a copy of the last ofsted report and see if there are any indications in there how parents saw communication.
My daughter started this year too and most of the first half term is spent playing and helping them feel settled in school. Especially as they all start to make friends etc.
I'm generally getting drawings coming home, and once a week a work sheet with a letter on s last week, a this week and they practice writing the letter using leader dots.
So probably getting comics and doing the writing activities or basic observation such as the odd one out would be good to do at home. Later on you could get a starting handwriting book, but don't do too many exercises at once or he will get bored.
We have not got our term plan yet, it's not that it has not been created, just it's not the most important thing to worry about at the moment. I have noticed that she is getting tired in the afternoons again though, I might even get a nap out of her :-)
