I fancy doing a sponsered silence for the next charity day there is (not sure which charity is next), but how difficult is it to last a whole day?

Has anyone done one before? Any hints of tips? - I've already thought of using a little whiteboard and pen so I can still communicate with people.

I hardly ever email or text, i can quite easily go a day without either. Plus if i'm going to lessons, the teacher won't be happy if i can't answer any questions so i'd better write stuff down, and the easiest way without using loads of paper is a whiteboard.

ask the School if you can do it on school premises on a saturday? That way your work wont suffer and someone in authority can keep eye on it and you can get a few people to join in if its for a worthwhile cause

Pitch a tent in the grounds of the MOFC club on saturday night, we will be near by to top up your billy cans, and the menagerie will give you feel of a safari break, what fun!!

MOFC?

Whiteboard doesn't replace the word blackboard, they are completely different. Some of my classrooms have both.
Molly - you have never heard of the MOFC?
Hang on whilst I get my whiteboard and explain it to you - shan't be long...

How about doing one on here Molly? : )
Why should we have to financially sponsor women to keep quiet? Whatever happened to the scold's bridle and the ducking stool?
lol : ) Mike.
Do it in the holidays molly, then you won't get into trouble at school. IMO, writing things down is bending the rules - silence is silence in any format of communication.
No way I could stop talking Molly. I would have to stick sellotape over my mouth and even then my lips would be moving desperately. Hope you have more will power than me.
