Just before this descends into ridicule, can I refer you to the OP? To my mind, loving and being in love are two different concepts. Any answers, on no more than two sides of A4, to be on my desk by 9.a.m. Monday.

A bloke once said to me (and I saw no reason to disbelieve it at the time, or probably still now) that "love means different things to different people, you love different people in different ways for different reasons." With the experience of the years in between since then, I'd probably now say "yeah, right!" but it does have some resonance for me - I think you can, different ways, different reasons.

This “old chestnut” comes around regularly with the same old contributors and the same old arguments and I seen to be one of them.
Love your wife, love your dog, love playing football, love to ski………..love is a different commodity to different people and it means different things to different people and the answers may be different depending on whether a male answers or a female answers.

For the purpose of this post, I will treat love as a commodity between two people mainly heterosexual or increasingly homosexual difficult to describe……..but” you know yourself what it means”……….I hate that last phrase as it is totally meaningless.

Also love can be very transient for ……….here today……..gone tomorrow.
