Modern China, all your old Chinese songs were like "The Moon Represents My Heart" it's all I love you so much, blah blah blah, not them.
Although Dong Bei Bei could dish out a bit get lost ya bum.
It's factory girl music, that's where the shame comes in, you think everything's going great, and then bang, it's gone.
Chinese people never used to have choice, the marriage fixers arranged everything, now they choose for themselves, but they still struggle (like we all do), for girls to leave home unmarried is a big change in China, these represent the pace of that change to me.
They have some really good melodies too.

Well,I hope those new freedoms won't result in Chinese society descending into the disaster we have in the West 123. If China still has standards and morals about family life then it should be preserved - not thrown out the window like here.
At the end of the day, it's the children who suffer never knowing a balanced and stable family life that China still accepts as the norm. China obviously still values her children who come first in the family. It's the duty of any parent worthy of the name to put their children first. However, Western children have been terribly betrayed by our society that has now taught adults to put themselves and their own interests first before those of their own kids.

Yes in many ways I agree, China is very much going it's own way though.
For years they were dirt poor, now they're getting some wealth there's a huge nostalgia movement in China.
I think they'll be alright though.

You are right 123, but China has dominated her sphere of the world for most of the last 5000 years. What a wonderful empire and rich culture - even older and richer than the cultures of Europe - which every Chinese person should be proud of.
China has always been able to mobilise their vast population resource to achieve whatever is necessary at the time, whether it's military campaigns, construction projects, agricultural development etc. Now China is doing the same to dominate the world economically. We see that now. The former powerhouses of the US and Europe are going bust. No other nation or continent can compete with China's resource of people. After the last two centuries of European influence and the Legations, China is only re-establishing the dominance and standing in the world she's enjoyed for millennia. There's little doubt that China will rule the world soon, both economically and militarily. That's a huge Navy being built at the moment - 600 submarines!
I've a lot of time for the Chinese. When I lived in Singapore I went to school with many Chinese kids and a Chinese doctor saved my life. I had dehydration and bronchitis but the European doctor told my mother there was nothing wrong witrh me and I needed a 'smacked bottom'. My mother called the Chinese doctor and he spent 24 hours in my room as I nearly died. I was too sick even to be moved to the hospital.

Chinese she may be, but the song seems to have strong French influences (as can often be found in music from Vietnam). The Youtube video was placed online from someone in Malaysia. So where, 123everton, does that music actually come from? Is it really China, or just somewhere where Chinese is spoken?
