can anyone recommend a very reliable speed radar detector,especially for hand held devices.this does not come from a boy racer,but as we all know,it is very easy to creep over the limit now and then.thanks

what is the penalty for being caught using a radar detector, compared to being a couple of miles over speed limit?

Oh I see, you wish us plebs to bob on your bow wave as you press on to very important meetings and need an early warning system to instantly deflate your automotive tumescence when the law comes knocking.

radar detectors are not illegal, at the moment.

There not that effective now as other detecting devices do not use radar.

The best way is with a Road Angel .. or similar.
It maps the location of known active cameras and is updated regularly .. even daily or weekly.

Everyone goes over the limit somewhere .. at some stage in their life.
If you travel a lot, you are more likely to get caught when you do .. Make sense?

Strange .... but true ... 3 people I know who are the 'least' likely people you would expect to get a ticket for speeding did so. All retired with respectable newish cars.
Would it be somewhere near the truth that there are folks who spend a lot of time watching their speedometer .. and maybe less than they should do on their surroundings ..?
There are also those that do the opposite?

My satnav warns me when I go over the speed limit and ping's continuously until I drop below it.
