Backlight for monitor

I have a Sony MFM-HT75W TV/monitor and the picture has disappered which I believe is a backlight replacement problem. Normally one would just go out and by a new TV but I really liked the quality of this model and it fits my kitchen really well.
Does any member have a suggestion as to how easy it is get this repair carried out and where to look? Or can one do it oneself?

Thanks Buenchico, but I forgot to mention that Sony and their service agents couldn't help as thay say there are no parts in UK. However I have since learned that the backlight comes complete with the screen so the cost would make it not worth while. it's a shame because I have been looking for and alternative and 19" TVs come with appallingly poor quality sound. Tinny or hollow. Unless someone can tell otherwise.
