Would you expect a matching envelope?

OR, are you not bothered..?

Basically- I've made a few cards on an ivory base and my envelopes are white.. should I but ivory envelopes, or is it not an issue having the white ones?!

For me the most important thing would be that the card fits easily into the envelope - toning is nice, but white is perfectly acceptable, IMO.

are you selling them online? If so, you wont show the envelope anyway. If via a shop i would expect a nice envelope too

I would expect it to match, but if the price was good I may overlook it, I try to make mine match or strongly contrast .

white is fine, i wouldn't like a coloured envelope.

I would think the envelope doesnt really matter...the recipient though will be really chuffed to get the card - thats what will be on display - the envelope will be in the bin probably before the day is out, whilst the card will be kept for ever

On that point, I am writing Christmas cards, and gold or dark red envelopes are a nightmare to address - if you can write on them without the ink sliding off, the paper colour makes it really difficult for the postman to read!

mamal has it in my book - matching - I sell prints, cards etc and I like the appropriate packaging

I would expect them to match....white could look too harsh next to ivory,which is a more gentle colour.

boxtops - when I've had dark envelopes I just stick a white sticker on and write the address on that.

loukr - I would prefer matching envelopes.
