Not belt tightening...we usually only go large on gifts anyway
a little more careful than previously...just cutting back on the stuff that we used to get that never got eaten anyway....so no nuts in shells, no yule log, no sticky liquers, and less silly extra presents ....
I usually spoil the daughter at Xmas, but as she had a very expensive 40th birthday present she won't be getting as much this year.
Now that I have a little one I am tightening my belt a bit. Just trying to get my priorities right.
Rather than tightening my Belt it will be a case of buying a larger pair of Trousers to cope with all the nice Food Rowan and Family will cook for me this Xmas !!!:-))
Type Your Answer Here...very careful this year as i dont start my new job till after xmas so we only have one wage coing in at the moment !!!!!

Don't go mad as there's only me and the hubby. Friends may pop round Boxing Day so may get a few extra bottles of booze and some nibbles in but that's all. We don't buy each other presents, usually just go out and buy something we both want in the January sales.
wheres my piggin invite ???? :( lol
Tigger - I think your little one is still too young to really know what Christmas is about so he only needs a couple of little bits (more for you than him!) you're right to save your money until he is older and will remember. I have always bought a Christmas themed book for my kids every year since they were born and we write their name and the year in the front. That means we have some special Christmas stories to read on Christmas Eve - they are getting a bit past that now which I will miss. :o(

Neither tightening or blowing out tis year - kids will still get massively spoilt, but trying to make sure we get best value for everything and cut out the extras that they didn't put on the list and never play with,
annie those books are lovely I always buy Ben the personlised one that you send off for, A Christmas Story with his name and that of some of his little friends, throughout
I know Bobbi - I have seen those books - should have really got them at some point but a bit late now - my younger son has an unusual first name so never gets any of those ready personalised things.

I felt a bit bad last year, we were having a bit of a clear out and my husband had sent a whole load of books through to my neighbour that he felt were too young for the boys - which is fine, except he had put some of their special Christmas books in the pile and I had to go to my neighbour and ask for them back - she was fine about it, but I did feel a bit guilty. However, they were sentimental to me (if not the kids) and I'd like to have them to give to the boys when they have their own familes.
