Not sure it was offensive but i assume the Cof E hierarchy found these views embarassing as they came from a Bishop.
I was disappointed he put them on Facebook then withdrew them. Either he was stupid putting up silly nonsense in the first place or if he actually had those views he should have had the honesty and integrity to stand by them.
Still, he's a Bishop so what can we expect?

I understand that tonight he is no longer a suffragen bishop and has been suspended.
Good.
Despite what happens in marriages, he should be wishing them well and for their lives together and that it lasts. In fact he should pray.
And then to follow the 7 year comment up with derogatory remarks about the R-Family, well that was just icing on a very bad cake. It's just one more example how Rowan Williams and his team do not offer the moral leadership that they should. No wonder UK Protestantism is in a mess.
