Thanks for your answer factor30. In answer to your question, I'm on a committee reviewing the Mines Act (1842) in view of a government recommendation of its possible amendment for contemporary use. Longannet is a case study in the report and I can't find its precise location for reference. Scottish Coal have went defunct and none of the private mining firms have been any help in phoning me back to let me know if they have Longannet's postal address on any of their correspondence records.
It is unlikely that the mine itself had a postal address since administration of the Longannet complex was from Castlebridge Colliery.
