I have recently purchased a navman 575 and whilst I am pleased with it's navigational skills, the voices are giving cause for concern. The problem is the mispronunciation of some place names. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, and could give me some advice please. Thanks in advance. Eric.

I have a Garmen nuvi and its sometimes quite hilarious when it mis-pronounces a local town from us. As most sat-navs these days use the phonetic pronunciation it will read how the name of the place is written. e.g Bideford sounds like By-de-ford, its supposed to be biddy-ford. best thig to do is sit back and smile when you get to places. Good luck and take care.
Living in Wales, we have a barrel of laughs at the way our sat nav pronounces the Welsh place names - think i'll drive to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerych.................
......
now that will be fun!!!
