Mazie's 'stuttering' looks good. Graves wrote 'I Claudius' and Claudius was a stutterer

On further research, a previous answer to today gave 2 and 4 dn as Nigel Dennis.5dn was a work of his called Cards of identity.Thus, all of this leads me to 9ac being Egocentric, presumably a description fitting Claudius.Once again though,

let us know about 9a Suzy...I've just had a look at the back cover of the book (ie.e the part of the clue "ascribed on Graves' book " and the word stammering is used) I dont understand how this crossword works, so will be interested to know
