I am trying to find an old book by a French author - Sartre, Andre Malraux ?? or other.  The book deals with the dead walking amongst us, unseen by the living but recognising each other.  I read it about 40 years ago and love to do so again but simply can't remember author or title.  Can anybody help?

I don't know the answer to your question but would suggest that you try here: http://forums.abebooks.co.uk/abesleuthuk someone on this site found a book for me that I could give only the vaguest description of...

I wish you luck with your search!

Thanks very much for your suggestion, I shall certainly try it.  I would really love to read this particular book again!

The only sartre book that sounds like the book you describe (that I can think of) is Les Jeux Sont Faits which was translated as The Chips are Down.
