Hi guys,
I keep getting a little balloon in the bottom right of my screen saying the memory on my laptop is full. Can anyone tell me what stuff i need to delete to free up memory? Where do i delete from and also what to delete as i don't want to delete anything i shouldn't.
many thanks

Good places to look are the My Documents folder and folders within it (I'm assuming this is a PC not a MAC).
Good candidates for taking up disk space are video files or DVD copies - they tend to be larger than other file types.

How big is your hard disk? It may well be that you need to get rid of some programs you don't use as well as trim the data you are holding.
Go to Control panel, add remove programms and when it populates, go down the list and identify 1) which are the biggest programs on there, 2) look to see whcih ones you have not used and see if you can see your way to deleting them. Often you download programs and then never use them - be ruthless!
Then look at My documents and get rid of any you don't need, or download them onto a memory stick.
After you have removed as much as you can then do a disk clean up and defrag and see what space you have then.
Good luck!

laptop makes it harder to upgrade the disc - but a usb external disk is a cheap and easy to install option for storage
at a guess you've filled the disk wirh either/or/and music video and photos ... all can be shifted to a usb disk
your main disk needs a minimum of 20% free - so you should aim at 50%
your other option is to sit down with a cake of CD/DVDs and do some serious backing up
stay away from windows, my programs and documents and settings - anything in my documents can be shifted ... but only delete files ... not folders - some of them ... my pictures ect are system folders
CCleader will do a good general cleanup ... just install and run (untick cookies if you have lots of memorised passwords)

IT IS FREE - it just asks for donations

If you mean low on storage space then you need to clean up files on your hard drive. Use CCleaner or similar to do so. Uninstall any unwanted applications, delete any unwanted downloaded files (images, video, audio etc.). Last but not least you can install a newer larger hard drive but first determine whether yours uses an ATA/IDE or SATA interface.
If it's physical memory you mean then see if you can upgrade the RAM. You'll need to at least know your make and model of laptop before doing so.
