I feel this is worthy of a question of it's own, certainly deserving of discussion and thorough investigation.
The EDL's leader "Tommy Robinson" (real name: Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) is on the leaked list of BNP members, he is also a criminal. He did 12 months for attacking a police and for the pssession of cocaine in his house.
Another prominent EDL figure is Jeff Marsh a violent criminal with convictions for stabbings. He's written a book - underneath all the violence and stabbings he's a real humanitarian, I think this is the book.

Allan Hetherington-Cleverley served 4 years for people-smuggling, but maybe illegal immigrants are OK if you can make money out of them?

I'm not a web wizard AOG, I have stated quite clearly that the acusation deserves "thorough investigation", the allegation that Tommy Robinson has a conviction for assaulting a police officer was aired in an interview for a Sunday magazine, if memory serves.

I don't think membership of the B.N.P would be viewed as a major impediment to the E.D.L, to the public at large it doesn't look so good as it makes a nonsense of their none racist credentials.
The most telling thing is that noone has been able to say categorically that they are not convicted criminals, I wouldn't know where to look.
