Pre-cancerous growth in colon

OH was told this when he had his appointment 6 weeks after his colonoscopy. He told me they said it was too big to remove but has to have a colonoscopy every 6 months. IF it does become cancerous, can they operate to remove or just give him treatment, eg radiotherapy and/or chemo?

I know it's no big deal but I'm just curious. (I'm used to the old b'ger being about)

Well........generally speaking, the larger the polyp is, the less likely it is to become malignant in the future, but in the unlikely event that it does become malignant, then surgical removal would certainly be a routine and standard option.

If I can give you some advice after losing my husband recently to colon cancer (found too late so had spread): do keep those 6 monthly appointments. Not the best of tests to have done but well worth it.
