I think it's completely up to the individual.

We're 'bombarded' with xmas from late-September, so why not.

Personally, I'd be sick of looking at it by about December 2nd, lol
Hi Welsh - I think it loses some of the magic if the tree is up for too long. It also gets on my nerves after a while (although I miss it slighlty when I take it down) and I think I am going to have trouble with the small people this year.

I agree Naz and Sher, and puznigma, I really think that if the tree isn't ther till Xmas Eve, it make Xmas so much more special for the little folk!.....................if it's there for weeks before, then it's just not noticed after a few days!.................but that's just my personal opinion!............
I don't wait till Xmas eve though - I will probably put it up about 10/12 before. Oh God, got the trauma of all the bloody advent calendars to go through from Wednesday.

Oh yes Advent calenders now too sher!................Sure the little people will enjoy!.....
HI Welsh - they all have a choccy one but we got suckered into the expensive ones too and and it has become a tradition (the eldest has gone for the wise move of having the money instead, children 2 & 3 have a Lego one and the little ones have a Play Mobil one - when we've got the money we are happy to spoil them at Christmas, in reality they don't get that many that are magical).

sher, bless you, I know you do your best for them all, I was just thinking back to my childhood, we went to bed waiting for Santa, there wasn't a tree or any decorations at all, we got up on Xmas morning, and it was magical!..........The tree was ther decorated and light up, the room was decorated too!.........so magical!................my parents must have been up most of the night!..............but Oh! The memories!...........
The best ever was when my mother and step-father (who were obviously skint) gave me and my sister a bicycle bell in our stockings with a little tag saying 'sorry no bike this year, maybe next year' and we went downstairs to our lovely, shiney bikes (you forget some of the sacrifices that your parents made for you - I shall make sure to remind mine on a regular basis!).
