I've used the FREE Avast for years with no problems.
I've also tried AVG but prefer Avast.
You have to re-register occasionally but it's not a problem.
Google for it and make sure you get the FREE version.
What's the problem with AVG?

Thank you Wak I will take a look at Avast. Thank you too TTG. I did a scan with AVG and it came up clear, then when I did one with Malware they found a couple of infections. My daughter is having no end of trouble with AVG too, saying 'the file is signed with a broken digital signature' so I thought I would try to find out if there was anything better.rosy
Hi rosyposy,

As Wak has mentioned, Avast anti virus is mor than adequate if you'e having problems with AVG at present.

Here's the link to download it BUT uninstall your AVG first before downloading if you choose to use it.

p.s sorry about typo's......hands cold as just in ( LOL )
I had similar problems using AVG because my operating system was ancient (windows xp) since upgrading to windows 7 I have not had a problem

Thank you both for your replies. I will look at Avast, Yogi. I too am on Windows XP, I never thought of it as ancient Cazz, (I had windows 98 before, now that IS ancient) and I hear a few moans about Vista. Thank you again, rosy
it really is rosy, some software companies are dropping support for it, not to mention all the updates it needs continually to keep an upgrade at bay.

I have a copy of windows 3.11 somewhere ;)
rosyposy been with avast for a whiole now no problems.♥♥♥
I'm with Win XP, Rosie and, as mentioned above, have used both AVG and Avast.
One reason for changing that I've just remembered is that you can't turn off the Residential shield in AVG whereas you can turn off all separate sections of Avast as required.
on bullguard with W7 - 18 months free and that seems pretty solid as a pc-condom, so far.
