I've got a plan for tomorrow, there will be six of us for tea/dinner, I am making a beef stew.
Got the large stew-pot ready, am soaking the pearl-barley & lentils as we speak. In will go 1lb of braising steak cut into cubes (size of oxo) floured and fried to seal in flavour, I'll add the barley & some lentils & I will put a tin of oxtail soup in, a couple of beef oxo's then the veg, I've got onion, leek, carrots, swede, potato's parsnips, when its cooked and ready to serve I'll sling in a handful of froz peas.
Everyone will want dumplings too, I'll make a dozen or more (Beef suet & SR flour) and I'll put 'em in the steamer.
I'll start in the morning and have it simmering all day.
Sounds really lovely Jem, sadly I am on the school run, as always! we nanny,s are so busy with the greadkids!...........but would love to join you!.........ENJOY!.......
If this is seriously an open invitation to all members of AB I really appreciate it - I would love to be there but I am otherwise committed.
What a lovely thought.
I hope it goes well.
All the best to you Jemisa - you are very kind.

jaydah, your crusty bread & Irish butter would have been great.
I'm told even those 'wild horses' won't be keeping 'em away. So if you can make it welcome.
With the heaps of veg and dumplings Ilb of beef filled 'em up and they knew there was sultana pud & custard to follow.
You should have come Dee sa, there was plenty & some for him & I for lunch today.
