Our local paper has a free ' win A Million'Scratch card. it says 'three matching symbols' cash prize guaranteed If the card is free how can they afford to give cash, and other prizes' Has anyone won with this card ?

It should say somewhere that the card has nothing to do with the newspaper. You probably need to ring an expensive line to claim a prize. Might cost you £10 or £20 to claim a prize of a fiver.

I know someone who won a car on a scratchcard you get in mags / newspapers , mind you she does like a gamble , buys scratchcards from the newsagents by the 5 + a time

Yeah, even if you win a holiday or something there's always a catch - it's for accommodation only and it's miles from anywhere or it's flights and accommodation but only for one. Don't waste your money on the phone call, it'll cost a fortune for something you don't want. Look at the list of prizes and you can guarantee that it's the crappiest one on the back that everyone has won.
