The other evening during the excellent "Mr Plow" episode the scene involving Homer talking to the insurance guy was cut. When asked what Moe's was, Homer says "It's a pornography store. I was buying pornography". This bit was cut from the scene, removing the joke and also jarring with the following scene.

Is it really necessary to cut this? Is anyone offended by it? He was drink driving, which is a whole load worse than buying pornography (although I guess too much may make you blind and thus equally impare your driving ability ;-) ).

No it doesn't,still got my no claims bonus !!!!
They seem to cut many scenes, easily noticed by the experienced Sky One viewer!  That reminds me, I have a question to ask...
did anyone see the episode that u2 were in? homer became garbage commissioner and interrupted a u2 concert. while bono started talking about waste mamagement larry mullen and the edge suggested a pint in moe's. adam clayton asked if he could join them and when they said no he called them w****rs. mr burns also called the whole band the same thing over the closing credits. i saw the unedited version on bbc2 i think. sky definitely cut it.

Yeah I've seen that unedited - must have been BBC 2. I guess in America it has little meaning and would pass by most as an amusing Britishism.
