Just read in my local rag that 1 guy and 2 women were each fined £175 plus £158.74 costs plus £15 victim surcharge for littering.,they each dropped a fag end in the street,now thats what I would call an expensive smoke.

There's a mcdonald's near me and the amount of wrappers, cups and half eaten burgers dropped between there and my house is unbelievable - an occasional fag end is nothing compared to the cr@p that gets dropped. I've seen mothers give their kids a slap for wandering off to a bin, then take the rubbish from them and throw it on the ground. I've also seen someone put what they thought was a stubbed cig in the bin and set it on fire...
