Am using Win Me (upgrade from 98) and only recently 'cookies' have been causing problems....have tried many suggestions on how to remedy the problem and am now thinking about sticking in the upgrade cd rom and reinstalling the upgrade hoping it will solve the problem. Is this a good idea??? (cookie problem is that even though they are switched on hotmail site tells me to switch them on before I can enter!!!!! and so I can't enter.)

On xp you can do a nondestructive recovery where it re installs your system but leaves your personal stuff intact. You got that on ME? If not, you got it all backed up on disks? Don't think you can start again and not miss the data you had too much cos you will. you got cdrw or can borrow a usb cdrw? if so then go for it. If you got spare cash get 2000 or xp. ME is cack. good luck. :-)

....I am nearly sure that ME has a non-destructive restore capability...... might try it over the weekend.
Go back to Windows 98. ME is far more trouble than it's worth.
