The EU is corrupt and a broken system. We need representation - real representation and a real parliament. Currently the EU commission runs the show, which is unfortunate as they're unelected luvvies of the various PM's and presidents of the union.
However, I support the concept of the EU. I think it is a necessity to create a strong union which cannot be pushed around when it comes to the demands of the US and China - let alone when South America starts swinging some serious weight in international politics.

What can I say, the last person to tell them the truth was Maggie and even she didn't go anywhere near as far as N F, and all without notes . I noticed there was at least some applause at the end . Maggie stood up for the UK but didn't attack the other members . I don't think any MEP of any country has done so . He certainly didn't make many friends.

A strong union ! If only thats all it was to be, but its not, they want a superstate, they do not want sovereign states like ours, they want to destroy us and our heritage they want us to all be provinces governed in every way imaginable from Brussels, they want toal power over us just like the Romans 2000 years ago.
Brussels love to standardise everything and everyone, they do not want free thinking people, they want servants to tax and subjugate.
The sooner we are out the better

Far from it. The sooner we withdraw the better. I can remember when we were applying to join. Politicans from both the right and left campaigned against it on the grounds that it would destroy the sovereignty of parliament. The arch-traitor Ted Heath tried to bypass this by saying that it was not a surrendering, but merely a 'pooling' of sovereignty. That fatuous remark alone did it for me.
The EU would have been right for us when they had just 6 countries. Now having 27 members most of them are hangers-on reaping the rewards and taxes from the richer countries. They say that a chain is only equal to its weakest link and we have a few of those. The EU should be split into 2 with the original 6 and ourselves as the star chamber making all the decisions and the others should take comfort from being secondary members.
