But bear in mind that the site is trying to sell alternative lighting products and so they might just be a teeny bit unreliable.
In fact re-reading it they seem to have only missed claiming that strip lighting raids your fridge and leaves the toilet seat up!
Hospitals seem to make fairly extensive use of strip lighting so I can't see them being all that dangerous to health.
Could be affecting your eyes, due to the flickering. Maybe try a new tube/bulb. I have seen some that can clearly been to flicker and they really annoy me if you have to put up with it for too long. If not see an optician and tell them. My house mate was affected by them in our lecture theatre. Optician told him he had slightly slow focussing eyes. Even if it's only slightly faulty it could still be affecting you without you even realising it.
Fluorescent (strip) lights flicker because of the alternating mains current that runs them. You don't normally perceive this but it can increase headaches and eyestrain. This is why many offices are equiped with flicker free fluorescents which oscillate at a higher frequency and are less noticeable as a result.
