...If you get a card through your door from PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) and told to call this number 0906 6611911 DO NOT RING if you do you'll be charged £315..reliable source...

Thanks janzman - this one has been going around for a while - the warning I have pinned to the back of my front door says it's £15 a minute, but whatever it is - you are right, it's a SCAM!
this was around last year, and the year before, it's still happening?

in any case, the maximum possible charge is just £1.50 per min.
Access to that phone number was cancelled 5 years ago...

We do love a good scare story.
Yes, the same old myths seem to be circulating round the internet (and intranets!) yet again. The maximum charge (from a landline) for 090 numbers is £1.50 per minute (with all 0906 numbers being charged at that rate). Only 091 numbers can charge at a higher rate, with their use being carefully monitored by PhonePayPlus (which has replaced ICSTIS) - they're normally used for things like charity fundraising.
I wouldn't ring anyone with a phone number starting with 09.
