For some unknown reason my computer has decided not to work anymore.  I keep getting a message saying........C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.  The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.  Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.  Why has this all of a sudden happened everything is plugged in properly I can't understand it.  When I try to print the only thing it responds to is the deleting of documents.  I can't clean the heads or do anything.  Please Help I so need my Printer for my work.

The file may have become corrupt after you installed some software.

Search in Google for autoexec.nt as there are a number of people with the same problem and they may offer a solution.

If vehelpfulguy's suggestion doesn't work:

1st: Try System Restore.

2nd: Boot from a system floppy and run scanreg/fix.

3rd: Boot from a system floppy and run scanreg/restore.

4th: Re-install Windows on top of itself.

5th: (Getting desparate now!). Bite the bullet - Format the disk (after backing up everything which your duff system will let you do) and do a clean install of Wimdows (plus everything else on your computer!).

Instructions for most of the above available on request.

Chris
