Problem using Avidemux2.
8 Answers
I have an AVI video file which I am trying to split into 7 different individual AVI files. I am trying to use Avidemux 2 to do this. The problem is that when I trimmed the first segment the output file is not AVI, it comes out labelled as File. I assume I can take the File and try to convert it back to AVI but to do this 7 times may take a long time. Id there something I need to change in the settings so that when I cut out a segment from the input AVI files, then the output file is also an AVI file. Or am I going to have to convert each one back to AVI again? Hope this makes sense.

If you leave the bottom box as AVI, try saving the section you want by naming it and then add .AVI on to the name (i.e. Section1.AVI).
See how you go.

I have just put an AVI file through Avidemux and edited out a section.
Went to FILE, SAVE, SAVE VIDEO and named it TEST1,AVI.
The file went in as AVI and came out as AVI so you have to add the .AVI on to the file name yourself.
You will have to edit out and save each section separately.
Hope this helps.
