I know that they say that ovulation occurs between the 12 - 16 day from the beggining of your cycle. Firstly is that from the 1st day of your period or the last day?

Also is it really impossible to conceive outside of these dates?

Finally if you were to conceive and at the date your period is due is it possible to have traces of blood?

yes you can conceive at any point during your cycle. Thats why the old wives tale about having sex during your period preventing pregnancy is so wrong. The chances are lessened but not removed.

And there is such a thing as implantation bleed which can occur (not for all wome) around the time that your period would have been due.

Have you thought of taking a test?

Thanks Red.

Think i will give it a few days. Am usually really regular and was only due on Sunday so will give it a week. Just have a small amount of blood since sunday (a bit of pink) as if it was coming but nothing yet!

I have looked into how the cycle works a lot and it is all very confusing. It almost seems olike it would be impossible to conceive out side this period. Not that its a bad thing lol
it always reads like that doesnt it but its not true, you can get pregnant at ant point, I know that lol

if you are usually exactly to date then it looks likely that you could be pregnant but only a test will tell (well unless you wait for the stomach pains in 9 months)

I suppose its the pink thats stopping me from beleiving it. but 3 days of that is a bit strange.

How long is it best to wait for test? and any good ones?
they are pretty much all the same and work once you get past your due date. so get a few cheaper ones rather than one super flash digital one.

Take a test, if it is negative and period still doesnt arrive then take another test a few days later until you get result or period.
Wilkos do a double pack for about 2 I think - as Red says once past due date the cheaper ones just as good as flashy ones so save your pennies!

If you get a neg - Clearblue suggest waiting until 19 days after last ocassion of unprotected sex before testing.

Good luck!
I discovered I'm preggers a week ago tommorrow, yippee, first one. Although I'm dying to know how far gone because I had the strangest period on the 21st June. It was heavy for one full day and thats it, then it ended. I took a test in the days following but was negative. Then I waited 28 days, when I thought I was due on and did a test and was positive. I did lloyds pharmacy test and there were two in the pack, was 5. First one was very faint but second was very definate. I'm currently waiting for midwife to contact me. I've been having the same symptoms for about 6 weeks now apart from my breasts have been feeling extra sore over last week or so with those montogomery tubercule thingys! Do a test now orange
