Should I where heels or not?

I have my winter formal on Thursday and I am really excited but I have a small problem. I just made plans with my date and he is great, but he is unfortunately about my my height. In general this is not an issue, but I was planning on wearing heels to complete the look. I don't want to make him uncomfortable but I also want to look nice. What should I do?

Have you not got any lower kitten heel type shoes? Then you can still look nice and feminine without towering over him.

So what youre saying is your date is short in stature, and you are taller than him - in heels even more so.
He should be lucky that hes got a date that thinks so much of this. Tell him its one night and if he cant hack it he can always stay home, while you have a good time with other friends etc

BTW Chou, my parents are about the same height and my mum has always worn heels - doesn't bother my dad one bit :)

I know, but this is a girls chance to get dolled up isnt it...all I have to do is throw on a tux and make sure Ive polished my shoes. Girls have a lot more to think about, and really what they want to wear should take priority, with noone having to worry about anything

I think its great ChouChou is ready to do something to make sure the date feels ok, even if it could mean she feels like she didnt look her best (even though Im sure she will whatever footwear she chooses)

I think I'll do heels that are 2 1/2" or under. And I love you're input Jack.. Very insightful.
And a small follow up question... my dress is has dark sequins and diamond looking rhinestones on a black bodice and a shimmery gray skirt, should I just go with black pumps or something fancier?
