Domestic Fridges....
3 Answers
We have one in a shed out in the back of the garden which seems to have packed up during the thaw here in central Scotland. The internal lamp comes on but the freezer stuff is beginning to melt and we don't hear any sound from the compressor at the back despite turning up the thermostat. Anyone have a remedy or analysis please?

All fridge freezers have an operating range in which they are designed to operate, if they are operated outside of this range it causes damage to the heat exchanger and compressor as they have to work at a rate beyond which they were designed for. Unfortunately it is a non repairable fault.
My advice would be to look for a specialist appliance if you wish to use it in an unheated outbuilding, unfortunately they are much more expensive than standard models.
