I've never really been into shooter type games, peferring puzzle, sport and strategy games. But... the chorus of 5 star reviews for the latest Call of Duty (COD) is deafening.
Bearing in mind my normal preferences, is COD something I'd be able to enjoy? I'm aware there have been several COD's so far - is it a game where you need to have played the previous ones? More importantly, is it a game which is easy to pick up for someone who doesn't usually play these types of games?
By the way, my console is Wii if that makes any difference.
I've been signed off work for 2 weeks after an op and thought I'd ask my brother if I could borrow his COD for my Wii as I thought it would be simple to play ( I dont play console games usually either).
I found it very very hard to control (as did my brother). My 2 sons played it also (They have it on Xbox360) and they found it hard to use too.
If you can, try and borrow it first or maybe rent it.
First person shooter games feel very awkward at first. I remember back in the day when i was an avid pc gamer and playing holding a joypad was horrible.
My advice would be to stick with it and it will get far easier and seeing as this genre is so packed with good titles you will reap the benefits long-term. I for one much prefer the joypad now which is a total turnaround for me.
Do you need to have played the previous COD's? No. There are some characters brought forward from previous COD games but this has no impact for someone playing for the first time.
if you are going to play cod black ops then play it on xbox or ps3 the wii version is to difficult to play and the graphics do not do it justice personally id say xbox 360 i just cant get enough espeically online its the mutts nutts.
