Duly paid £190 for a year's car tax. Was duly sent tax disc in the post. Lost tax disc goodness knows where....

What do I do? Ring them & lie through my teeth & say I never received it (darn useless post office...) or will they reissue me one when they see I did genuinely pay for one over t'internet?

If it's blown out of my car - which is likely - will some rotter of a scumbag have picked it up and cashed it in?

I would contact them A.S.A.P no matter what. If its been picked up by an honest person, and there are more than a few about, they may mail it back to Swansea or hand it in at a post office. So if you should "fib" you may get caught.

I think they will re-issue if you have proof of payment.

Thanks Dave x
Always remember liars have to have good memories, so if you decide to lie make sure you make some notes about what you have said.
Costs 9 quid for a replacement i think.
You need a V20 form.
Replacement is £7 -link to application form here:

So if you lie and someone hands it in what then? For seven quid I would order a replacement.
Yes, too true lankeela, not worth the bother of thinking about is it. And you wouldn't have to remember what you said.
Where's stupid act of the week No. 1 salla? Is that just getting up when you should have stayed in bed?

Have looked - it's only £7, so I will apply forthwith. I am not a very good liar!

Starbuck - stoopid mistake no. 1 was trying to defrost my freezer by just opening the door, but not actually switching it off or pulling the plug. It took me a week to realise - after blaming the fact that it had not defrosted on the cold weather.....Durrr.... I had been paying to 'freeze' the entire large garage for a week.... :-(

If I had brains I would be dangerous.
I lost mine after purchase. Got replacement for £7. A few days later, my neighbour knocked on the door. He had found the original!

Mine's probably up a tree or in a bush somewhere.... (don't ask).
most people use those little holders but I suppose it might be convenient to stick it in your bush....but doesn't it get a bit moist
Lol and does she display it on the windshield.

Your a naughty lady Rowan :-)
Plod have records on their palm gizmos as to who's insured/taxed/mot etc. Only a park attendant might moan & you can tell him to 'do one' !

Thanks Jay - I love telling car park hitlers to "do one" !

No rush then - I can take my time looking at the weekend. Might have got mixed up in some christmas cards. Who knows? I'm always losing things - memory, money, marbles, knickers.......
