No. Try ringing the number from anothers mobile who they won't know or a landline and when they answer say Hi Gary. At least you will know whether they're male or female. Can you not block the number?
You can buy pay as you go sim cards from almost any shop you walk into and I don't think you have to register any details. Even if you did, they wouldn't need to be your true details. It would be almost impossible to work out who owned the number.
Reverse lookups for mobile phone numbers are illegal in the UK, so no you can't.
Also, anyone can buy a sim from a garage for a couple of quid and there is no requirement to register any details when you buy that sim, so even if reverse lookups were allowed then there would be no guarantee the number is registered to anyone.
Is there no clue from the nature of the call who it might be from, There can't be that many pranksters who would know you number and have nothing better to do.
