Whiffey?

Please may I preface this post with a request that this thread be treated with some respect. Please.

Hi everyone.

None of you know me.

I am the daughter of someone who used to post on here, I believe. I believe he used to go by the name of \\\"Whiffey\\\" - although I may be wrong. I also believe that some of you may know him as William Hifton and are friends with him on Facebook. I know that some of you who know him through Facebook also know his real name (and to prove that this is not a wind up, his real name began with an \\\'M\\\').

I am sad to say that my father has died unexpectedly.

I know that some of you probably considered him to be a bit of a wind up merchant and I understand that he didn\\\'t see eye to eye with everyone here. If you would consider that you didn\\\'t have a good relationship with him, I request - please - that you refrain from posting anything here about this. He was a good man and we love him very much.

Me and my sister are trying to come to terms with our loss and trying to let his friends know the news. I don\\\'t know if he would want anyone here to know, but he isn\\\'t here to ask so I\\\'m doing what I would want someone to do if it were me.

I don\\\'t know if any of his \\\"AB Friends\\\" are still using this site, but please do let anyone know who would want to know. I have access to his Facebook account and, at some point, I suppose I ought to message his friendlist.

I am sorry to share this news this way but there is no other way I suppose.
