did your mother sing you lullabies or songs from the music hall example below:-

There was I, waiting at the church, waiting at the church, waiting at the church,
When I found he'd left me in the lurch, oh how it did upset me - rather,
All at once he sent me round a note, here's the very note, this is what he wrote,
"Can't get away to marry you today, my wife won't let me."

No lullabies for me!!

Nice one Naz! I know it's a ONE eyed yellow idol, but my Nan insisted it was GREEN eyed, lol
and this Chris-
The old brown cow went prrrt against the wall
the old brown cow went prrrt against the wall
the old brown cow went prrrt against the wall
and you couldn't see the wall for prrrt, prrrt, prrrt!

my grandson thinks this is hilarious, not a lullaby tho'!
Apparently, when I was a baby, my Mum caught my Dad trying to rock me to sleep singing "eye tiddly eye, Sugar or bust, never let your goolies dangle in the dust".
"sugar" = sh!t (i forgot about the thought gestapo).
Sorry for the delay in replying, Rosyposy.

So I can be reasonably confident then, can I, that my friend's 5-year-old son (Logan) will like a poem, called 'Liggedy Loggidy', that I've written for him? It really needs to be accompanied by the actions, but here goes anyway:

Liggedy loggidy Logan went to the liggedy loggidy loo.
And liggedy loggidy Logan did a liggedy loggidy poo.

Liggedy loggidy Mummy gave a liggedy loggidy yell,
'Cos liggedy loggidy Logan had left a liggedy loggidy smell.

Liggedy loggidy Daddy took a liggedy loggidy sniff,
Then liggedy loggidy fainted, 'cos of the liggedy loggidy whiff!

AP:
I hope that you remembered that sound advice about taking care where your goolies dangle ;-)
I vaguely remember my parents coming home rather tipsy and singing something like "Roll me over in the clover, roll me over lay me down and do it again".......when questioned about this they denied everything....
Hey Chris - that must have been a powerful real ale with your Sunday lunch today ;o) To think peeps marvel at my writing (in)abilities - respect to you sir!

As you are all getting quite rude I shall tell you one my mother used to sing -

Have you ever seen Sally make water,
She does such a beautiful stream
It measures a mile and a quarter
And you can't see Sally for steam.

and Chris, Logan will love your poem, just hope he doesn't repeat it at school.
