Against my better judgement I have been roped into singing on my step daughter's "Band Hero" tonight. (Although was amazed to get 95% singing Warwick Avenue).
Two songs have come up
American Pie where the word "whisky" is missed out which is kind of intrinsic to the song.
and
Kidz (Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue) which goes "Me no bubbilicious, me smoke heavy tar" and the word "smoke" is not sung.
Now I know this is aimed at kids, but that is just simply ridiculous.
If the censorship is getting THAT strong, I wonder if Lindisfarne's 'Fog on the Tyne' would ever make it to the selection of songs available. After all, when I was a kid I thought that "We can swing together, we can have a wee wee, we can have a wet on the wall" was really rude ;-)
