I believe that it is now illegal to dock puppies tails - but I am not sure if it is a total ban.
I believe that other countries do something to dog's ears to make them stand up - not here, not sure if frowned upon or illegal.
17 puppies - I would want to keep them all.

Most professional breeders have the dew claws removed at an early age here in Oz.
Tail docking has become commonplace here, though I do feel that some breeds look somewhat unbalanced ie Rottweilers
Ear cropping has never been a problem here though I believe the States are in favour of this,
and regarding the bunch in the video - I'd like to keep them all, too, but fancy ... having them all in the lounge !!!

Money talks in the US - I saw a short TV clip where a dog had been castrated and the owner had false testicles implanted into his scrotum. I am not sure why anybody would want to that.
My Frankie (my avatar) is all black at his back end, but his scrotum had originally been pure white. It must been some sort of advertisement for the lady cats - bragging about his abilities as a stud.

The fake testicles are used if you show in the US I understand...if the dog is monorchid or needs one or both removing on medical grounds. I believe that it is still legal in the UK to remove dew claws. There are some grounds for this as they can need clipping and also can be damaged which is painful for the dog. All of our dogs have kept their dew claws and led active country lives with (touching wood) no damage. Some have needed clipping in old age but mostly while they are young and active, the claws wear down. Its also noticeable that Weimaraners (not sure about other breeds) use their dewclaws as a thumb to grip whatever they are chewing and also to assist when scaling.
It is perfectly legal to remove dew claws and some breed standards call for it. I have never done it with mine, but you do have to check they don't grow round into the legs.
I had a rescue border collie that had hind dew claws and they were removed under anaesthetic when he was castrated. Some breeds have hind ones that are 'double' such as Pyrenean Mountain Dogs and they are a breed feature.
