You're listening to Genesis on Christmas Day?
You need to fast-forward your audiobook version of the Bible to Matthew, Chapter 1 ;-)

Nice MarkRae, Suppers Ready hard to beat. I love all their stuff, mainly early. But do like Blood on the rooftops, and And then there were three. Ask me in 10 minutes tho and it cud be different, I just luv em.
You may or may not know that, several years ago, I was "Ton Banks" in a Genesis tribute band. By far the most challenging piece to play live was "The Duke Suite"...
Question Author
Clever Buenchico, like it :o)
Or even "Tony" Banks...
Question Author
I didn't know that Mark, but Duke is the album I probably play the most. Why was the Duke Suite most difficult ? And do you have a website !!!!
The only palatable tune they did.

Merry Christmas btw!
The Duke Suite was the most challenging for me because of all the different keyboard sounds, and the multi-layered parts. Contrary to popular opinion among Genesis anoraks (no disrespect), Tony Banks' parts represent very little technical challenge to a classically trained pianist, especially the early stuff. He didn't even use a synth before "Selling Engand". People used to be amazed when we played stuff like "Duke's Travels", but Tony's solo is little more than rudimentary scales and arpeggios.

The band does indeed have a website; in fact, I continue to maintain it even though I haven't been in the band since 2003: http://www.inthecage.co.uk
Train come on train..............Don Thomas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I truly need to hear and learn more from you MarkRae. My admiration and excitement has just shot off the scale. My email address is [email protected]. Could you possibly contact me and give me more detail ??
I'm really not sure there's very much more to learn. I'm a classically trained pianist and I was in a Genesis tribute band for a while. We played all over the UK and in Europe, but we were by no means unique in that...

Even so, mutual admiration for a band such as Genesis is rare, Would be nice to hear from a fellow fan !!!!
"Turn it on Again" and "I can't Dance".
Hmmm, tough call ... probably 'The Serpent'.
Album Trick of the Tail and track Ripples - only listening to it yesterday

That's me on the left, in my Trick of the Tail waistcoat, hosting the second Genesis Fan Convention in 2001.

To coin a phrase, it's been a long long time, hasn't it?
Genesis were great - I still have albums somewhere.....
